Cold Turkey at Ace Cafe...

Porsche Club GB London Region (R20) get together at the legendary Ace Cafe every last Monday of the month, and Dec is no exception. So I decided to attend the last meet of the year, known as 'cold turkey', to say hi to the organizers Ed & Nick Pike and see some good old German metal. 

Ace Cafe soon filled up with an impressive range of Porsches for this warm winter gathering, including the recently launched 991 Gen 2 Carrera, which attracted plenty of interest as it made it's first UK appearance at a Club event - thanks to Porsche Centre Reading. 

Here’s to all things Porsche in 2016!

‘Bahn Stormer' Sunday

...alarm sounds at 5.45am (on a Sunday!), it's dark, cold, miserable, and there's more fog out than in the 1980s horror film, but nothing's stopping us from heading out for ‘Bahn Stormer' Sunday. Myself, Rob, Jamie and Rupert rendezvous at the Little Chef on the A3 and cautiously head south to Goodwood (where we meet up with Richard and old university friend Nick).

Although the idea behind ‘Bahn Stormer' Sunday was to fill Goodwood predominantly with quick German cars there was a sweet feast of exotica allsorts: Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis and even (Rob's favourite) the Mexican-built Vuhl 05! It felt more like Supercar Sunday, but we weren’t complaining. 

Nice to see the high number of Stuttgart metal representing - official pictures here - including a few 911 GT3 RS, not one but two 918s (you don't see those everyday), and of course our very own 'All Blacks' convoy...  

Sadly, it was the last Goodwood Breakfast of the year so I’ll take the opportunity to say a big thank you from the boys for yet another great season - and we’re looking forward to what’s in store for next year! Perhaps a Porsche-themed Breakfast Club? :-) 

Club Carrera UK at Goodwood

Club Carrera UK put on a fantastic Porsche event at Goodwood Motor Circuit, combining a Porsche show and Track day - raising money for the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice which is located nearby. I popped down with Rupert & Sarah (sporting their new and awesome 991 4S) for a spot of breakfast and to soak up all the Porsche goodness...
