1 of 279

Just stumbled across these stats on a forum...

It's nice to know that the 993 varioram ('96 - '98) models were not supplied in great numbers to the UK. Mine's 1 of only 279. And I wonder how many didn't make it this far...

Here are the numbers for the different varioram models (UK RHD):

Targa 532 (333 manual, 199 tiptronic)
Carrera 354 (279 manual, 75 tiptronic)
Carrera 2S 344 (251 manual, 93 tiptronic)
Carrera 4 274 (274 manual only)
Carrera Cab 197 (129 manual, 68 tiptronic)
Carrera 4S 181 (181 manual only)
Carrera 4 Cab 75 (75 manual only)

All in all a great day out with Jamie N, Jamie D, Brendan and Rob. The Porsche Driving Experience was awesome and our hats are off to Porsche for both the 991-series 911 and the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox - a superb feat of german engineering with lightning speed gear changes. It was actually a load of fun throwing a spanking new car around the track without having to think about shifting the gears - given my last track experience it came as a pleasant surprise and meant I could focus on all the other stuff; brake-points, turn-in points, racing lines, apexes, exit points etc. I had a blast, I really did - maybe I'm not a manual snob after all!?!

And as always, nice to see more of the 993 family out and about today, especially the wide-boys!!!
